Data Deletion Request — REI Social Machine

Your Right to Request Deletion

You have the right to request deletion of the personal information that REI Social Machine (a service of Deal Genius Investments LLC) holds about you. This page explains how.

What Gets Deleted

When we process your deletion request, we will delete:

  • Your account credentials and profile information
  • Your business information (brand, market, owner name, contact details)
  • Content generated on your behalf during your subscription
  • Your connected social media platform authorization tokens (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok)
  • Usage logs and settings preferences
  • Support communications with you

What We May Retain

Certain records must be retained to comply with applicable law, tax, audit, and fraud-prevention obligations. This may include:

  • Payment and transaction records (retained per tax and accounting law, typically seven years)
  • Aggregate, anonymized usage data that cannot be linked back to you
  • Backup archives, which roll off on a normal retention cycle
  • Records subject to legal holds or active disputes

Two Ways to Request Deletion

Option 1: In-App Account Deletion (Recommended)

If you have an active REI Social Machine account:

  1. Log in at reisocialmachine.com
  2. Go to Settings → Account
  3. Click Delete My Account
  4. Confirm your decision
  5. Your account will be closed and data deletion will begin per the schedule below

Option 2: Email Request (For users without accounts, or if you cannot log in)

Send an email to privacy@dealgeniusinvestments.com with:

  • Subject line: Data Deletion Request
  • Your full name
  • The email address associated with your account (if applicable)
  • The business name associated with your account (if applicable)
  • A statement that you are requesting deletion of your personal information

If you connected your Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or TikTok account to the Service, include those handles as well so we can identify the related data.

We may ask for additional verification to confirm your identity before processing the request. This is to protect your data from unauthorized deletion requests.

Timeline

  • Acknowledgment: We will acknowledge your request within five (5) business days.
  • Processing: We will complete deletion as required by applicable law, typically within thirty (30) days.
  • Archive window: Before permanent deletion, your data is held in an archive for thirty (30) days, during which you may cancel the deletion request.
  • Complete deletion: After the archive window, data is permanently deleted from active systems. Backup archives roll off per normal retention cycles.
  • Records retained by law: Certain records (payment, tax, legal) persist as required.

What Happens to Connected Social Media Accounts

Deleting your REI Social Machine account does NOT delete content already published to your Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or TikTok accounts. Those posts remain on the respective platforms and are owned by you. To delete posts from those platforms, you must do so directly within each platform.

Your authorization tokens (the permissions that allow REI Social Machine to post on your behalf) are revoked within thirty (30) days of account closure.

Confirmation

Once your deletion is complete, we will send a confirmation email to the address on file (if you provided one).
